I have tried this before. This does not work and will not be in line with requirement.
As said earlier, the business requires the validity period to be 1st Jan to 31st Dec.
(Calendar year).
If changes are made as per your suggestion, then the validity period (for an employee hired on 26.08.2015) for an absence quota type would be as below:
Validity start date - 26.08.2015
Validity end date - 26.08.2016
