Keep track of employee anniversaries in ByD

SAP records the 'initial hire date' as a non-changeable field in the personnel file. It is the first day someone starts working at the company. We would like to use this field as a reference for calculating anniversaries.

We have offices around the world and employees changing offices regular. In SAP ByDesign this results in rehiring them in one of the branches in another country.

Their 'hire date' changes to the date that employee starts in the other branche. Their 'initial hire date' remains unchanged; the first day they started working at our office.

If Jane starts in our company in the UK on 01-01-2001 and she start working for our company based in New York from 01-01-2010 on, in SAP her 'initial hire date' is 01-01-2006 and her 'hire date' is 01-01-2010.

At present anniversaries in SAP would look for the 'hire date' and mention that Jane works for the company 6 years. She actually works for the company 15 years which is a major milestone but reporting will show a 6 year service.

The proper anniversary can be derived form the 'initial hire date' field, but in SAP we are unable to create a report using the 'initial hire date'. The field is being stored, but not available in any reporting. SAP support came to the same conclusion and mentioned we should try one of the account managers, UG or SCN to have it taken into consideration for next releases.

Does anyone have the same wish?

We would really like to have the system support us instead of us recording the same info in a different field manual :(
